How Alcohol Effects Your Weightloss Efforts...
April 2, 2015
Unless you've been under a rock, you'll know that Alcohol is worth a whopping 7 calories per gram (to save you working it out, two glasses of white wine can be around the same calories as half of a loaf of white bread).
But it's not only the calories in alcohol that are the culprit. In lay terms, of all the "nutrients" (ie: things with a calorie value) we ingest, alcohol is the most useless - our bodies don't have a use for it. So, our bodies (clever machines that they are) go straight to work as soon as we drink working their little organs out trying to "metabolise" the alcohol that we just so thoughtlessly gave them.
While they are busy doing that, they don't metabolise the fats, carbs and proteins that we have also fed them during the day.
So, in short, ALCOHOL is like a big door stop on your metabolism.
